Weird morning

This morning was a very weird morning. First, we all got up later then we usually do and it was then when we it all went weird. Shawn didn’t want to get out of his crib. He kept saying”nooo” and whining. Eventually I got him out of the crib and on the floor. Even then he still didn’t want to get changed. He sat there with his hands in front of him so I couldn’t change him and every time I tried he would say “nooo” and try to stop me. Eventually he did get changed but he wasn’t happy about it. I had the same scenario with Faith this morning.

But it actually got worse when I finally got them both in the car and drove them to daycare. It took some coaxing but they finally got out of the car. First we walked to Shawn’s class and he didn’t want to take off his coat, no matter how hard I tried, he wouldn’t take it off so I thought we would take Faith to her class as a distraction. Same thing, she didn’t want to take off her coat. She gave me a hug and then wouldn’t let go. So here I am holding Shawn’s hand and Faith in my other arm. She was holding on so tight she was almost strangling me. haha. Finally her teacher came out and asked Faith to help deliver something to another class then she finally went to her. Faith loves being a helper, so that was a good lure.

Shawn and I left for his class to try again. Again he didn’t want to take his coat off and he didn’t want to let go of my hand either. At least 15 minutes have passed by this time, so I am now trying to figure out how I am going to get him into his class so I can get to work. Finally I ask him to give me a hug, which he does and then just lays his little head on my shoulder. It was so cute but he needed to get into his class. Just then his teacher and the whole class came out so they can go and play outside. This was my opportunity to pass him off to the teacher but he wouldn’t have it. Finally the teacher he knows the most asked him if he wanted to go to her, at first he said “nooo” with his little whine then she asked again and he said “yes” and put his arms out.

After almost 30 minutes in the daycare I was finally able to leave so I could get to work. Wow, what a weird morning. I guess they both didn’t want to go to daycare this morning. They miss us! But I am so thankful for the ladies and men that continue to care for our kids at Peekaboo.
