The last long weekend

This being the final long weekend of the summer, we packed it with lots of activities with great friends.

It started on Friday were we went grocery shopping and had our Pizza Friday supper, this time from the Metro grocery store. I recommend trying it at least once. We enjoyed some pizza and then played with blocks and other toys. Just before the kids went to bed we read some books. We let them go to bed late so hopefully they will sleep in.

Saturday: The next morning the kids kinda slept in. It was approximately 8am when they woke up then De-Ann went downstairs to make pancakes so we could have Pancake Saturday. We enjoyed some pancakes together and then spent the rest of the day hanging out with the kids.

That evening we were invited to do a prayer of dedication and blessing over the home of a family of our church. Actually it was not just one home but two and on the same street. The two homes were owned by two young adults who were brother and sister. It was a great privilege to be asked to do prayer for this family and their homes. It was great to see how our family, especially our kids were accepted into their family. We had a great time with the family and a delicious meal to finish off the night.

Sunday: The next morning was our usual Sunday morning with two services, a great time or worship to God. That afternoon we crashed at home after the kids went down for their nap. Then we had a very special couple visit our house for supper. Great food, great conversation and a yummy dessert (they brought). Then we hung out a bit more until the kids went to bed. The couple were so kind to let us put the kids to bed while they waited downstairs. Then we spent the rest of the night chatting and getting know each other better. Oh ya, we showed them our basement and explained where we are where we are hoping to be soon–reno done very soon.

Monday: The next morning we got up very late and had breakfast as a family. Then we were invited to a birthday part from 11am to 1pm, one of Faith and Shawn really good friend from the church and a very close family friend…Titus! He turned 1 year old this week. What a great time with singing, playing instruments and lots of good food no to mention all the great fellowshipping.

We finished off the day playing with the kids, doing laundry and having a very light supper, then kids to bed. Now we are both working on our computers and watching episodes of Castle, one of our fav TV shows.

As you can see most of our long weekends are very full ones. It just seems to happen that way. We are looking forward to a long weekend where we just hangout at home with the kids. Not sure if that will ever happen, but here’s hoping.
