End of the world

As many of you know the end of the world is supposed to happen on Friday, Dec 21, 2012. This marks the conclusion of the 5125 year “Long Count” Mayan calendar. And of course doomsday-mongers are predicting a cataclysmic end to the history of Earth.
Some say we are going to run into a nearby black hole, others say it might be a new era in human history, still others think Armageddon is coming. My younger brother thinks its going to be a flood of some type so he is leaving tomorrow for Foymount, the highest populated point at 500 metres above sea level.
Of course I don’t believe anything is going to happen except that I will have a day off, like every other Friday. Actually I am looking forward to it.
I had to include this image in my post because I thought it was hilarious and shows the ridiculousness of the whole thing. Look closely for the humour in it. Hint: notice Dec 21 then the few dates following.
