Kids perspective

I walk into the room and ask the kids where their Mommy is.

Shawn say “Mommy is playing outside.” Then Faith says, “No, she’s putting something in the oven.”

Finally De-Ann opens the back door from backyard and it is obvious she is coming from putting something on the BBQ. I told her what the kids said we both laugh.

Can I kiss it better?

Remember when you were a child and you would come to your parents with a “boo-boo” and ask them to kiss it better? I do. Well, as you probably have guessed, I have been doing the same with my own kids. One of those traditions parents pass down from generation to generation, I guess. Anyway, I have a cute story about the tradition for you:

I had a huge headache tonight (still do) and I was rubbing my head in front of Faith. She asked me “what’s wrong Daddy?” I told I have a headache. Then she asked “does it hurt?” I told her “very much so.” Then she asked “can I kiss it better, Daddy?” I told her “yes.” And she kissed my forehead. Then she asked “where does it hurt, Daddy?” As she pointed to the middle of my forehead, “here?” I told her “yes.” And she proceeded to kiss the middle of my forehead a couple of times. Then she said “all better!” And jumped into bed.

Amazing how she has already picked up much of what we say and do. Thankfully it is good things. haha.
