Pretty hair
Faith doesn’t usually enjoy getting her hair brushed so after I brush her hair I always tell her that her hair is pretty. And that usually appeases her for me to brush her hair.
She has an amazing memory, and remembers much of what we say at the most unusual times. Most of the time it is very amusing, and sometimes very embarrassing.
This morning while attempting to brush her hair, I told her again that her hair was pretty, but this time she didn’t want to let me brush her hair. She kept saying “no, no, no.” Then she took the brush from me and started to brush her Bunny Bear’s head and said “pretty hair.” Then she started to brush my hair and said “pretty hair Daddy!” Then she laughed uncontrollably! It was so cute.
Jesus’ birthday!
We were driving on our way to our Christmas Eve services and I asked Faith what tomorrow was. Without missing a beat she said “Jesus’ birthday, Daddy!” Then she said “we are going to singing happy birthday to Jesus and give him a birthday cake.”
Then on the way home from church she repeated that it was Jesus’ birthday again. This time she was talking to Shawn and tell him how important it was to remember his birthday tomorrow.
Christmas Eve tradition
Now that we are home from the Christmas Eve services and the kids are in bed, we get to do what my parents did every Christmas Eve when we were in bed…take all the hidden gifts out and put them under the tree.
I love being a parent. Can’t wait to see the kids faces when they open their gifts. But first we sing “happy birthday to Jesus!”

Merry Christmas!
