Steve Jobs 1955-2011
As many of you know Steve Jobs, the innovator and creator of much of the Apple products I use each day passed away yesterday. Some of the products like the iPod, iPad, iPhone and my most prized possession, my MacBook Pro are his inventions. Those are just a small sampling of what he has created since he has been at Apple. BTW I don’t yet own an iPad but am hoping Santa will give me one for Christmas or for Dutch Christmas (my birthday). haha.
Steve will be missed by all those who worked with him but also by the rest of us, those who have enjoyed all of his inventions and creativity. We need to pray for those who are left behind, his family, friends and co-workers at Apple. I am sure they are missing him even now.
I wanted to finish off this post with a quote I found Steve said early on in his career at Apple. Notice the only thing missing from this quote is God. But if you listen closely he has the attitude we all should have not just about our job but about our role as Christians on this earth amongst our family, friends and especially co-workers.
“I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.“ — Steve Jobs 1955-2011.
