After he died Hadad became king and ruled FROM the city of Avith. He defeated the Midianites in Moab. After he died Samlah became king. After he died Shaul became king. After he died Baal-hanan became king. After he died Hadad became king and ruled FROM the city of Pau (his wife was Mehetabel).

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ME? The most obvious is Esau inter-married or settled among the people of Canaan (against his Dad’s wishes) just to show the opposite of what Jacob ended up doing–contrast.
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? Don’t let sin reign in my life or settle for a life MARRIED to the world.
